Blue Clarage Grits

$6.00

Blue Clarage Grits

Blue Clarage corn has a deep blue color and was developed as a meal and feed corn by homesteaders in the Ohio Valley and West Virginia between 1830 and 1850. This heirloom corn mills easily and creates a beautiful lavender colored flour with white and blue specs.

Blue Clarage corn makes delicious flavored grits and provides a beautiful blue color when cooked!

Blue grits can be enjoyed as sweet or savory, you can eat them for breakfast or for dinner. The simplest way to enjoy grits is with butter and milk. However, you can serve grits with cheeses, spices, sauces, vegetables, meat, and seafood.

Stone-ground grits are the most coarse grits and retain the most nutrients. The germ and hull of the corn remain, providing a good source of fiber and nutrients. What’s most impressive about grits is that they’re high in iron.

Because our product is stone ground and has the whole grain, it will stay fresher longer when refrigerated, but can also have a shelf life of many months if kept in a reasonably cool location. Sold in one pound bags.
